Nosebleeds can be caused by a number of different things. It's not always possible to identify the exact reason why one occurs. Nosebleeds can start just inside your nostrils (anterior) or at the back of your nose (posterior). These different types of nosebleeds tend to have different causes.
The vast majority of nosebleeds are anterior nosebleeds, which means the bleeding comes from the wall between the two nose channels (the lower septum), just inside your nose. This part of the nose, known as Little's area, contains many delicate blood vessels that can be easily damaged.
Posterior nosebleeds: A small number of nosebleeds are posterior nosebleeds, which means the bleeding originates from branches of arteries that supply blood to the space inside your nose between the roof of your mouth and your brain (nasal cavity). These nosebleeds are more common in adults than children. They can be more serious than anterior nosebleeds and bleed more heavily. Medical attention may be required.
Nosebleeds due to dry weather, cold weather or injury can be handled fast and efficiently with an essential oil. It's amazing just how quickly a common nosebleed can be stopped with this lemon, helichrysum, and cypress essential oil blend.
Lemon Essential Oil: Lemon essential oil is hemostatic, meaning it helps stop bleeding by speeding up the coagulation process.
Cypress Essential Oil: Cypress essential oil has been known to promote blood clotting.
Helichrysum Essential Oil: Helichrysum is a healer encompassing wound healing, nerve damage, pain relief, and regeneration.
Geranium Essential Oil: If helichrysum is out of your price range, until you can save up, consider Geranium. While helichrysum is great for emergencies to stop bleeding and manage acute pain, including nerve pain like sciatica, Geranium is also very special and perhaps a better option for your budget.
Ingredients:
2 drops lemon essential oil
2 drops helichrysum essential oil
2 drops cypress essential oil
1 cup of water
Paper towel, cotton ball, or gauze
Instructions:
Pour the water in a bowl and mix in the essential oils. Dip the whole paper towel in the water. Wring out the paper towel and place over the whole nose and apply pressure to the midsection to help speed up coagulation.
It should only take up to ten minutes to stop the bleeding.
This is just one out of a plethora of ways to use lemon, helichrysum, and cypress essential oils.
